Nota geral
A donzela incita a sua irmã formosa a irem ao santuário de Vigo, onde o mar é bravo, para olharem as ondas. Na verdade, como compreendemos nas duas últimas estrofes, essa ida é um pretexto para estar com o seu amigo, que também lá irá (como confessa, dirigindo-se agora à mãe). Note-se, de resto, como o refrão, mantendo-se inalterado, ganha, nestas estrofes finais, um outro (ambíguo) sentido.
