- A noble asked that I honor
- our evening meal with a verse,
- but I thought that in poor taste,
- and so I sing of my aversion:
- I've made an oath:
- I'll never say evil is good.
- When dinner came, he cried,
- "Now, sing for the occasion!"
- "I'd like to," I said, "but,
- as I told the crusaders in Jaén,
- I'll never say evil is good.
