Nothing is known regarding this author except his condition of minstrel, an information that is part of the attributive note that precedes his only song retained in the songbooks. By this song, where he attacks the “traitor” alcaides, we presume that he would have been in Portugal around the time of the Portuguese civil war (1245-1247), eventually in the entourage of Prince Alfonso of Castile (future Alfonso X), coming to the rescue of King Sancho II. But we have no concrete facts regarding this minstrel, including his place of birth.
